Versatile freelance percussionist and vocal beatboxing specialist Daniel Nambassi was Head Boy of the Internationally acclaimed Drakensberg Boys Choir before moving to Cape Town to study Psychology, Politics and Music at the University of Cape Town. Presently Daniel teaches Percussion and drum kit and trains Choirs at a number of local Cape Town schools. Daniel is also a founding member of the acclaimed vocal group AnecNote, winners of the SA’s Got Talent competition in 2017. Daniel is also in demand internationally as a music teacher having recently returned from a trip to Norway where he taught and coached classes in African music.
Lilavan Gangen who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in jazz drum kit performance from UCT, is a versatile drummer/percussionist on the local Cape Town music scene. He regularly performs as a drummer and percussionist with top local bands including the Nomadic orchestra, the Unity Band and Steezies (recently having performed with this group in Mozambique). Apart from his drums and classical percussion teaching commitments at a number of local schools, Lilavan is also a prominent musician in the local Indian Hindu community and contributes regularly at the Siva Aalayam in Athlone.
Recent graduate in Western Classical Percussion Performance from UCT’s College of Music Ethan Rutter is now a freelance classical percussionist regularly performing with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and other local professional classical and light music orchestras in the broader Cape Town area.
